Nothing is uploaded. Every image stays on your device. You can turn off your wifi and this still works.
Photos from a phone can carry the exact coordinates where they were taken, the device that took them, and the date and time. Images from AI tools carry Content Credentials, which is why LinkedIn puts a small Cr badge on some posts. Screenshots and exports often carry the software you used.
This reads all of that, shows it to you, and gives you back the same image with those blocks removed.
Most online tools redraw your photo and save it again, which recompresses it and loses a little quality every time. This one does not. It removes the metadata blocks and copies the actual picture data across byte for byte, so what you get back is pixel for pixel the file you put in.
It removes the metadata that is written into the file. It does not remove invisible watermarks such as Google SynthID, which are woven into the pixels themselves. An AI generated image is still detectable as AI generated after using this.
Use it to take off branding and personal data. Not to pretend something is not what it is.
Works: JPEG, PNG, WebP.
Not yet: HEIC, the format iPhones use by default. Convert to JPEG first. This tool will tell you rather than hand back a file that looks clean and is not.
